Got up early today to head to Newark Airport again..too early for me! We left at about 5.30am...so by mid-afternoon I was egggzausted! Bear in mind on a typical day (of late) I wake up at the crack of noon! Lol (don't hate me!)!
But I've been going to bed late too, at about 2am every night, so it's not like I've been sleeping too long every day.
I kinda wanna change my routine, cos I hate waking up with the day half over!
Anyhoo it went well at the airport, the officer was so nice (I can't think of his name...too tired to think!.. starts with a G i tink...).
At first he was like, I know I may look like a nice person, but I can be really mean.
And then later he must have changed his mind about himself, cos he said, I know I can look mean but I can be really nice.
Lol! Whichever way works I guess! Either way I was glad I got him cos he was awesome.
We talked a little about the whole immigration service and how it pretty much is not immigrant-friendly.
There's like a million and one forms to fill up, and without a lawyer, you're quite screwed, cos you're left to figure out what to do yourself.
And there's nobody you can call at the service center to get help with what forms to fill etc.
So he completely understood how I got into this whole mess in the first place. Some officers can be snooty jackasses, but he was so comforting and understanding.
The amazing thing was, he said when he first started out at the job, the filing fee for my forms was only like, $200, tops. And now it's gotten to be $1010!
And you would think with the government charging so much more, that they would provide better service to immigrants.
But heck, no. What the money's going to, I don't know. But it's way too much, I say.
Anyway, I'm done ranting.
I took a late-afternoon siesta earlier, and woke up about an hour later soooo tired. I tried to get up but my eyelids felt so heavy and I felt so beat.
But I did finally snap out of my trance, cos I had to prepare dinner and stuff.
I don't usually like to take naps anyway, I like to save my sleep for bedtime.
Tomorrow we're going to Dan's, and Jesse's gonna finish up his work on the wall adjoining the kitchen and living room. They basically tore down the wall and rebuilt it, cutting a hole in the wall, to allow for a bartop, and so you could see through from the kitchen into the living room.
And I'm gonna help them paint the living room and the kitchen walls, cos right now it's bone-white and with two little boys in the household, the walls look too dirty too fast.
And with colour on the walls, they could at least look clean longer. Lol you know how it is.
Anyway I'm gonna leave you with a little fun fact today that I learnt from my Snapple bottle cap!
Did you know that penguins have an organ above their eye that converts salt water to fresh water?
Lol betcha didn't know that huh! I didn't!
There, I taught you something today; there's my good deed for the day! =p
