Lost in Translation

Last night I was showing Jesse a picture of some camels that Aishah took in Abu Dhabi that she uploaded on Facebook, which she captioned "These lazy camels are specially for Zubby".

And to which I commented in a mix of English and Malay, "Thanks eh. Sungguh berkenan i. Senyuman nya sungguh menawan."

So Jesse told me to translate my comment for him cos he can hardly speak a word of Malay.

And this was the first thing that came out of my mouth trying to translate "Sungguh berkenan i"....I said, "I am attracted to the camels."

Omggg Jesse couldn't stop laughing.

So I tried taking back what I said, trying to explain to him that that's not what it really means, and that my Malay is not that good but he wouldn't hear any of it.

Ughh this is what I get for having a mouth that moves faster than my brain does. Lol.

He was still laughing so hard, and he shoved a pillow under his shirt on his back, and walked on all fours (ala camel) and said,"Is this what turns you on Babe?"

Omggg hahaha I AM NOT ATTRACTED TO CAMELS.

That's the last time I'm translating any Malay for Jesse cos I know I will say something stupid like that again, and I won't hear the last of it for the rest of my life.

Speaking of Facebook, literally (almost) my whole family is on facebook!! Even my dad and my mom, and some of my aunts.

Haha at first I freaked out seeing my dad on Facebook, but now I think it's totally awesome, we're all connected and we can keep in touch all the time!

And now a lot of Jesse's family are on Facebook too. Some of them he hadn't talked to in a while, and he found plenty of old friends and buddies there too.

So as of right now I say Facebook is awesome!
